About

Over the past six decades Connolly Contract Ltd has served as general building and civil engineering contractors. Damien Connolly the Managing director of Connolly Contracts Ltd, has followed in his fathers footsteps in the construction industry.

With numerous projects, his first step on the ladder began with a small development in Tullaghan, Co Leitrim. Once completed, and the company now forming, he ventured further afield by building a popular and much larger development called Melvin Fields, a 2 phase development of 85 houses in Kinlough, Co Leitrim. His good name on the building side had spread and the entire development was sold out within a year of being put on the market.

His next step was forming a Retail Park in the fast expanding town of Bundoran, which attracts many holiday makers. Being a local man himself he felt Bundoran was missing something for the people of the town, as well as for the tourist, so building Bundoran Retail & Business Park would accommodate both. The first ever Retail Park in Bundoran is thriving with a variety of different shops. It consists of the following businesses who lease out units; Décor Zone, The Coffee Dock, iMage, Monsoon Valley, Dizzy Dens, Subway, Headspace, Lees Laundrette, Atlanticside College, Pre-school & Afterschool and Connolly Contracts Head Office.

On the completion of building the Retail Park, he bought the old Imperial Hotel and adjoining Westlea House B&B, demolished both buildings and erected a high standard quality finish Apartment complex with Restaurant, all with fabulous views overlooking the Atlantic Sea. This complex is called Eden Bay. Whilst building Edenbay he also repaired and built the Pier Wall which is alongside the complex for Donegal County Council.

Connolly Contracts has once again met with people’s expectations with the completion of Eden Bay in mid-May of this year. Their next project is already underway with the redevelopment of the old St Louis Convent site again in Bundoran; where their plans are to build a three tier development. * Eleven houses will be built to accommodate the near retiring age, * The Peoples Centre, which will be for the retired/nursing age group. * The third phase will be a youth centre for use by the young people of Bundoran. This future development will cover young, middle aged and old. This “village” will hopefully be completed early next year ’09.

Connolly contracts have the ability by maintaining the budget and adhering to an aggressive schedule in the building trade and look forward to future successes in the construction industry.
